The Top 3 Most Important Lessons Learned in 2017 Share this...FacebookPinterestTwitterLinkedin Thanksgiving just passed, Winter is here, and Christmas is right around the corner! Can you believe it? This time of year is very special, but it can get stressful too – especially for us working Moms – no secret there! We’re out shopping for the perfect gifts, decorating the house, attending holiday parties, the list goes on! With that being said, it’s SO important to take some time out from the hustle and bustle of the holidays to reflect and express gratitude for the last 365 days; everything you’ve accomplished, how much you’ve grown, seen, and done. Looking back on 2017, these are three of the most important lessons that I’ve learned: 1. Go with your gut. Once you learn how to do this, you’ll be so much more well-equipped to make important decisions quickly and with good judgement. There’s one decision that my family had to make around this time last year that really stands out to me. My husband, Jordan, and I had just received devastating news about his illness. We had a very difficult choice to make regarding an out-of-the-box treatment and had to act fast, but we trusted our intuition which thankfully, pointed us to the right decision. Going with your gut instinct is so powerful, and important. It really does have a way of leading you in the right direction. 2. Make the Leap. The moment that I realized this was the moment my life went from ordinary to extraordinary. Take the risk, regardless of what the people around you say. It’s OKAY to not do what “everyone else” is doing. It’s OKAY to take risks in life. Chances are, if you don’t you’ll spend your days wondering “What if?” – and who wants that?! If I didn’t take the leap and start my own business five years ago, our lives would probably look very different right now. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into and had never done anything like it before, but I jumped on the business opportunity anyway. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my family. 3. Be thankful for and with what you have. This is a quote that I saw recently and loved because it really resonated with me. With all the holiday madness, it’s even more important than usual to take a step back and be present with your family and friends. Take a look around and simply enjoy being with the people you love, and the people who love you. For us, especially, during this holiday time, we really reflect and look back on the past year. Together, we love to think about everything that the future holds for us and can’t help but feel incredibly thankful, blessed just to have another day of spending time with each other. There’s nothing in the world that’s better than that. Tell me – Have you learned any big lessons this year? I’d love to hear about them! Wishing you all health and happiness in the new year. 1.
