The Best Healthy No-Bake Power Bar for the Holidays

As we are preparing for the holidays, it is easy to start baking sugary and very traditional Christmas and Chanukah cookies. However, these types of cookies can leave us and our kids with low energy, or even hyper.

How about instead of making traditional cookies, why not make a nutritious power-bar instead?! I eat these power bars almost every day as a healthy, sweet snack around 3 or 3:30 pm. They give me energy to get through the busy afternoons with my kids and all their activities. Plus, they keep me nice and full until dinner time.

Healthy No-Bake Power Bar

Ingredients:

1/4 cup pitted dates

1/4 cup figs

 1/4 cup assorted raw nuts

1 tbs chia seeds

3 tbs honey

Process each separately. Start with nuts. Remove from processor. Place in mixing bowl. Mix together well, form into 6 x 6 baking pan. Refrigerate for one hour. Cut into 2×2 squares.

Get creative with this recipe! You can add unsweetened shredded coconut, Lily’s chocolate chips, almond butter, cranberries, have fun with it!

What is your favorite holiday cookie to make?
